Ghastly Halloween Party Rap

To make it extra enjoyable, make some creepy treats and drinks and do not stop entertaining ’til every guest has either yelled or laughed maniacally.

Yield: 8 cups base
Preparation: 40 minutes|Cook: 20 min

1/2 gallon apple cider or apple juice (8 cups).
1/2 cup cinnamon honey, wildflower honey, orange blossom honey, or wanted honey.
1 orange, sliced.
6 inches stick cinnamon.
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped, peeled fresh ginger.
1 tsp entire allspice.
1 teaspoon whole cloves.
1 bay leaf, optional.

Eliminate orange slices and spice bag; discard. Use in the following party beverages. Makes about 8 cups base.

Nutrition (per serving): 180 cal., 0 g Fat, total: 0 mg chol., 46 gm carb., 8 mg sodium, 0 gm fiber, 44 gm sugar.

Mulled Apple Cider
Prepare Haunted Halloween Party Punch Base as above. Serve warm base in mugs or heatproof glasses. If you like, garnish each serving with a cinnamon stick and a thin apple slice. Makes 8 (8-ounce) servings.

Very Evil spirit’s Punch
Prepare Haunted Halloween Party Punch Base as above. Cool to space temperature level. Transfer punch base to a big pitcher or punch bowl. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours. In a punch bowl, combine punch base; one 12-ounce can frozen cranberry-raspberry juice concentrate, thawed; one 6-ounce can frozen lemonade concentrate, defrosted; and 3 cups cold water. Include ice, if you like. Thinly piece 1 medium apple. Drift apple pieces and cranberries in punch. Makes 18 (6-ounce) portions.

  • 2 (6 ounce) boxes gelatin, mix any flavor (peach or watermelon give the best color)
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 9 ounces fat-free


Before each use, wash the mold with warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge

Spray or smear the inside of the mold with a small amount of vegetable oil, then wipe out the excess.

Put the gelatin mix in a large bowl and add the boiling water.Stir about two minutes until the mix is dissolved.

Stir in the cold water.

Stir in the evaporated milk and food coloring.

Adjust coloring until it is the perfect pinkish-gray and stir.

Pour the mixture in the brain mold, stopping about 1/4 inch from the top.

Place the brain mold in a shallow bowl so it will sit level, and refrigerate overnight.

To remove the brain, shake the mold gently until the gelatin loosens.

Place a flat plate upside down over the open side of the mold, then flip the mold and the plate together.

Lift the mold off, leaving the brain on the plate.

This variation on jello shots will guarantee your good friends shock with hair-raising.  Just fill each syringe with jello, prior to it’s firmed up, and put in the refrigerator to chill.
